The historic town hall is the town's landmark and, together with the market square, forms the centre of Bocholt's town centre. The imposing building was built between 1606 and 1624 and has served as the town hall ever since, until the town administration moved to a new building in 1977. Today the town hall houses the registry office and the council hall, where numerous cultural events take place. There is also a restaurant on the ground floor.

Information for cyclists
Bocholt's location alone makes it a wonderful destination for cyclists. Small rivers such as the Issel or Bocholter Aa meander through the landscape and are surrounded by beautiful nature. Along the Bocholter Aa, a 58-kilometre cycle path leads from Velen via Rhede and Bocholt to Isselburg to great sights and through a beautiful landscape. Imposing castles in Isselburg and Raesfeld are within easy reach and the Rhine and the Dutch neighbours are also not far away. The possibilities are manifold.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. Bocholt is also connected to various themed cycle routes.
