Information for cyclists
Leeden is a small picturesque village east of Tecklenburg in the Teutoburg Forest. The centre of the village is the former ladies' abbey. A wonderful place for a stopover on a cycling tour through the region. There are many opportunities for cyclists.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through Münsterland. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. The monastery in Leeden is also connected to various themed cycle routes:

Everyone can find a suitable cycle tour on the Münsterland cycle path network, which is around 4500 kilometres long. There are also many possibilities in the neighbouring Osnabrück region and they are easy to reach from Leeden.

Parking
Opposite the Abbey is a large car park with ample parking for visitors. There is also a free caravan park here.
Arrival
The district of Leeden lies to the east of Tecklenburg on the southern slope of the Teutoburg Forest. The former ladies' monastery forms the centre of the village of Leeden.
Getting there by car:
Leeden can be reached via the A1 motorway, exit Lengerich. To continue, follow the signs to Leeden.
Arriving by bus and train:
Bus line R41, connection to Osnabrück main station, stop Leeden, Schwermann.
Bus line 209, Tecklenburg town centre, stop at Leeden, Schwermann or Leeden, fire station.
Bus line 149, Lengerich city centre (fire station), stop Leeden, Schwermann.
The Schwermann bus stop is directly at the Leeden monastery.

The museum opens every 1st Sunday of the month from 14:00 to 17:00 and by appointment.
