Monschau is unique in many ways. The historic old town in the narrow valley of the Rur remembers the cloth makers' era in the 17th century.
Well-preserved half-timbered houses stand right next to the grand houses of the cloth makers. With its many different attractions, Monschau in the Eifel has something to offer every season!
Also, the villages around Monschau represent a typical Eifel architecture, whether it's the Venn villages at the edge of the moorland area Hohes Venn - such as Kalterherberg, Konzen, and Mützenich - or the federal gold village of Höfen with its hedge landscape at the edge of the Eifel National Park.
