Castle Satzvey, one of the most beautiful water castles in the Rhineland. The first documented mentions date back to 1396, but it is believed that the foundation walls of the castle house are even older. After more than 300 years in family ownership, Castle Satzvey is still the home and ancestral seat of the Counts Beissel von Gymnich.

Who would like to watch real knights in a horse fight or fly around the fire with witches on Walpurgis Night? Then everyone is invited to experience all this and much more at Burg Satzvey. Let yourself be enchanted and transported back to a past time. Whether it's a colorful Easter market, a witches' festival, a children's knight festival, or the famous knight games. For those who prefer something spooky, Halloween at the castle is just right. But even during the Advent season, the castle offers a contemplative atmosphere at the historical castle Christmas, with a lively nativity tour.

Burg Satzvey was built between 1396 and 1406 on an island in the middle of a large pond, through which the Veybach flows. The son of Max Felix Reichsgraf Wolff Metternich, who lived as the lord of Satzvey since 1878, stylistically expanded the castle to its current appearance. In 1944, the castle came into the possession of the family of the current owner, Franz Josef Graf Beissel von Gymnich jun., who has made Burg Satzvey known beyond the borders of the country through knight games and other historical events since 1981.
