The Schieder-Schwalenberg public library is based in Schieder Castle and also has a branch in the Wöbbel district. The library is a public institution of the town of Schieder-Schwalenberg. It is used for general education, training and further education, information and leisure activities. The use of the public library is permitted to everyone and is governed by the provisions of public law.

From July 3, the municipal library in Schieder Castle will also open its doors to readers young and old without appointments.
However, some restrictions also apply to the library: in addition to the usual hygiene rules, only a limited number of up to 6 readers are allowed in the library at any one time, so there may be waiting times. In addition, a face mask must be worn in the building; children up to the age of 6 are exempt from this rule.
For the time being, the library is only open on Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m.
