Stork capital on the Weser - Friedewalde V Hallbruch stork roost
The occupied stork nests in the Weser villages are particularly attractive in the summer months. After the population was very low in North Rhine-Westphalia at the end of the 1980s, around 90 storks are now breeding successfully again in the Minden-Lübbecke district alone. Almost a third of the stork nests and stork pairs can be found in the "stork capital Petershagen".
