The Amtsvenn is a nature reserve of around 330 hectares on the Dutch border between Ahaus and Gronau. Today, the Amtsvenn is only a remnant of a much larger raised bog area and consists of the Hündfelder Moor, the Amtsvenn Nord and the Amtsvenn Süd. The entire area is designated as a nature reserve and continues on the Dutch side as the Aamsveen. The protected area is a wonderful place for walking, hiking and cycling.

Information for cyclists
The Amtsvenn is a wonderful stopover on a cycling tour between Gronau and Ahaus and should not be missed on a visit to the area. The circular routes themselves are not intended for cyclists, but it is always worth getting off your bike and experiencing the nature reserve on foot.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. The Amtsvenn is also connected to such a themed cycle route.
Flamingo Route
The entrance to the Münsterland cycle path network, which is around 4500 kilometres long, is at the Birkhanhweg and offers numerous opportunities for great cycle tours in the region.

A car park is located at the junction of Birkhahnweg/ B70 (Amtsvennweg).

Getting there by car:
The Amtsvenn is located directly on the Dutch border in the northern Münsterland. Arrival by car is via the following federal roads:

There is a connection to the A31 motorway (Emden - Oberhausen) via the B54.
Arrival by bus and train:
The Amtsvenn can be reached by public transport via bus line 782 from Vreden (bus station) or Gronau (railway station).
