Schalkenmehren maar nature pool

The Schalkenmehren maar is the largest of the three Daun maars. Here, you can not only enjoy nature and the fresh air during your walk, but can also cool off in the maar. You also have the option of fishing and exploring the maar by boat.

Enjoy carefree and relaxing hours at the natural swimming pool Schalkenmehrener Maar. A baby pool with sun protection and benches for parents is available for the smallest guests. A fenced toddler swimming pool with a maximum water depth of about 100 cm offers safe bathing fun. A diving board and a water slide, present since 2016, provide action.

On the large, elongated sunbathing lawn, there are numerous sun loungers and enough shade to enjoy the special atmosphere at the Maar in peace.

A modern sanitary building with changing rooms and shower facilities is available.

The kiosk offers a rich selection of food, ice cream, and drinks on the cozy terrace for both small and large appetites.

The bathing season is from May to September, daily depending on the weather.

The use of watercraft of all kinds, such as stand-up paddles (SUPs) or other swimming devices, is unfortunately not permitted on the Dauner Maaren and the Pulvermaar as per the order of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Vulkaneifel district.
