The Wild- and Adventure Park Daun offers a year-round car hiking route through the forests, close encounters with wild animals, a Barbary macaque gorge, bird of prey flight shows, an adventure playground, and a summer toboggan run.
The Wildlife and Adventure Park Daun is located in a vast, untouched area in the Vulkaneifel. An eight-kilometer long car hiking route runs through this landscape of forests, streams, and gorges: Here, families with children can experience animals up close . There are stopping points with viewing platforms and feeding spots, allowing for ongoing close encounters with the animals.
Visitors can witness the rut in autumn or the sweet animal offspring up close. In the Wildlife and Adventure Park Daun, there are mouflons, wild yaks, llamas, nandus, red deer, fallow deer, wild boars, and many more, roaming the forests and curiously observing their human guests. In a gorge lined with ancient beech trees, which can be explored on foot, lively Barbary macaques frolic and watch the visitors.
The expansive bird of prey enclosure features falconry and presents breathtaking flight shows by the feathered acrobats, along with plenty of information about the lifestyle of these natural kings of the skies.
In the park, the restaurant, the adventure playground with many imaginative devices such as a giant wave slide, and the mini animal farm, where the animals love to be petted, make the visit a memorable fun experience for the whole family throughout the year.
Right outside the park gates is the 800-meter long summer toboggan run, where one can glide down through meadows and forest on a winding ride. You can control the speed yourself and be transported back to the lofty height of the starting point by a comfortable transportation system.
