Above the spa garden, naturally occurring Buxus Sempervirens (evergreen boxwood), popularly known as "Palm", grow on the slope. It is one of the largest areas of boxwood north of the Alps.

On the south-facing slopes, warmth-loving plants grow, including the Buxus Sempervirens (evergreen boxwood), commonly known as "palm". Above the spa garden, a population of boxwoods has developed, according to legend because the Romans are said to have brought the seeds to us in their garments, forming a proper forest, a special natural monument.

Their occurrence and especially the natural distribution in this region are rather unusual due to the climatic conditions, but can also be regarded as particularly positive. This natural population is especially appreciated during the time before Easter. Traditionally, during Holy Week, individual branches of the boxwoods are hung in the house after being blessed, instead of palms.

The boxwood population has since become a registered natural monument. Hikers can admire it on the local trails "Kurschattensteig" and "Wasserfall-Erlebnisroute" as well as on the "Geo-Route".
