Pulvermaar nature pool

The Pulvermaar, an almost circular lake with 74 m deep blue water surrounded by steep slopes and beautiful beech forest, invites you to swim in a unique natural setting.

Among the great natural beauties of the Vulkaneifel is the Pulvermaar, nestled in a beautiful landscape, surrounded by beech forests – a natural monument of volcanic origin. As Germany's deepest maar, it invites swimming, boating, or fishing with its crystal-clear water. There is a wheelchair-accessible entry into the Pulvermaar. The well-maintained surrounding sunbathing lawns offer bathers the opportunity to relax extensively after swimming in the natural pool of Pulvermaar or one of the non-swimmer pools, or after using the waterslide. Play equipment and a children's splash pool also provide fun and play for the little ones. In the cafeteria adjoining the outdoor pool with an outdoor terrace, visitors and bathers can enjoy a unique maar view while savoring coffee, cake, and various delicacies in a cozy atmosphere.

The use of watercraft of all kinds, such as stand-up paddles (SUPs) or other swimming devices, is unfortunately not permitted on the Dauner Maars and the Pulvermaar, as ordered by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Vulkaneifel district.
