Wirtshaus zum Stift - Markt 15
In 1886/1887, the Minden Abbey Brewery had a restaurant building erected.
The elaborate design in the forms of the German and French Renaissance was created by the Minden architect Oskar Ziegler. In addition to two large restaurant rooms on the ground floor and first floor, the building also included an apartment for the landlord on the top floor. With the Feldschlösschen Brewery in the Tonhalle opposite, the Hall of the Viktoriahotel and the Gesellschaftshaus der Ressource (Markt 22), this was a centre of social life at the turn of the century.
The Stiftsbrauerei merged with Feldschlösschen AG in 1918. During the renovation in 1971, the original furnishings of the guest room on the ground floor were uncovered with a painting of the brewery.
