The Museum Folkwang is one of the most important art museums in Germany.

It owes its reputation to the outstanding collections of 19th century German and French painting and sculpture, various 20th century art movements such as Cubism, Abstract Art and Expressionism, as well as post-1945 art, photography and graphic art. A special feature is the collection of works of ancient and non-European art as well as the collection of the German Poster Museum with over 350,000 sheets.

Regular major public and temporary exhibitions characterise the programme of the museum, whose new building was designed by the famous architect David Chipperfield.

Free admission to the Museum Folkwang:

Admission to the permanent collection of the Museum Folkwang is free. This also applies to all exhibitions of the Photographic Collection, the German Poster Museum and the Graphic Arts Collection.
