Theatre/variety show Cultural centre Venue

Founded as a cultural centre in August 1984 in the rooms of the old hammer & sickle forge in Hagen-Haspe. Entry in the register of associations on 05 October 1984.

For a well-balanced programme of the hasperhammer, 5 programme categories form the basis of the programming:
- Exquisite (exquisite, unusual guest performances)
- Creative (productions by own creative groups)
- Forum (e.g. productions by regional artists)
- Special (presentation of newcomers)
- Highlight (selected highlights in the programme)
.

With a varied programme and artists of high quality and renown, the hasperhammer has earned itself a place in the front ranks of cabaret stages in the German-speaking world. Outstanding artists started out small in the hasperhammer, such as Harald Schmidt and Götz Alsmann. Or remained loyal to the "hammer even after their great successes, such as Jürgen Becker, Dieter Hildebrandt, Thomas Freitag, Frank Lüdeke, Pause & Alich, Sandra Kreisler, Jörg Knör, Lioba Albus and Kalle Pohl. The promotion of young talent also went very well with successful performances by Katharina Herb, cabaret artist Sia Korthaus, comedy newcomer Daniel Reinsberg and Moritz Netenjakob on the hammer.stage. Own productions of the theatre am hammer, the dance project StepsTo and the oriental dance theatre "Cassiopeia" round off the varied repertoire.
