The outdoor pool has been closed for the winter break since September 5, 2024.
The Gehlenbeck outdoor pool offers visitors of all ages refreshing swimming fun and a variety of attractions. In addition to special pools for children, swimmers and jumpers, there are modern highlights such as a unique flying slide and an interactive spray park. Barrier-free access and adapted facilities also ensure that people with disabilities can enjoy the pool without restrictions.
Children's area with slides and sun deck
The pool for younger children is 0.3 meters deep, equipped with two slides and a sun deck. A large awning is also soon to be installed over the pool. There are already signs that the nearby spray park with the large flower-shaped element in the middle could become a highlight for visitors. The kink elements are bendable; when they are moved, the water suddenly splashes in a different place.
Adventure pool for the adventurous
The adventure pool, which has a depth of 0.75 meters to 1.25 meters, is equipped with a faster and steeper slide, neck showers and six massage loungers.
Swimmers' pool for all bathers
The swimmers' pool is suitable for both non-swimmers and swimmers with a pool depth of 1.15 meters to 1.80 meters.
Jumping pool with special flying slide
In the diving pool, bathers can jump from the one-meter, three-meter and five-meter boards into a 3.80-meter deep pool. There is also a special attraction here: the flying slide. "With this one, there are only four of these in Germany," says Knickmeier.
Accessibility in the new outdoor pool
The outdoor pool is also barrier-free. The entrance, changing rooms, lockers, showers and toilets, wading pool and access aid to the sports pool are adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. There is a guidance system for people with visual impairments.
