The FreilichtWanderTheater plays, as the name suggests, outdoors.
For over 20 years, the Alfter open-air theatre has been offering children's theatre for the whole family in summer. The FreilichtWanderTheater shows children's book classics such as "Jim Knopf", "The Little Witch" and "Hotzenplotz". The audience (from five years!) hikes from scene to scene with fun and folding chairs at this event. The ideal combination of nature experience and entertaining entertainment.
The theatre meadow, now permanently leased by the Verein Freilichtbühne Alfter e.V., is a central component of the production and, with its spectacular view of the Rhine valley, an impressive setting in itself. With over 100 actors from Alfter and the surrounding area, the open-air theatre is an attraction for young and old spectators from 5 to 105 years of age. Previous productions include "The Little Witch", "Jim Knopf", "The Little Fat Knight", "Momo", "Robber Hotzenplotz" and "Ronja Räubertochter". A new play is performed every two years.
