    North of the Märkischer Ring lies Funcke Park, which was donated to the city around 1865 by the Funcke family of factory owners with the stipulation that this -until then private family park- be preserved as a recreational area. 

    An approximately three-metre-wide pathway winds through the park and offers plenty of space for strollers. Children can let off steam on a playground similar in style to the playground in the Stadtgarten
