Kapelle Wahlhausen

The votive chapel Wahlhausen is located about 1 km outside the village on a hill visible from afar. From there you have a wonderful view over the Gerolsteiner Land.

During the Second World War (1944), the people of Steffel vowed to build a chapel to Our Lady if the war would spare their homeland. Already in the summer of 1946, the construction of the chapel began on the 560 m above sea level. NN-located hill Wahlhausen, the inauguration took place in 1947. The oval building is visible from afar and offers magnificent panoramic views of the Volcanic Eifel.
