The abbey fountain, built in 1917, stands on the former site of the imperial abbey; this sandstone fountain was built at the same time as the town hall and the market hall.
At that time, it was the only monument that reminded us of the noble ladies' abbey.
At the top of the column, a lady of the abbey rides a dolphin, the abbey coat of arms clearly visible in her arms. As befits her aristocratic position, we must look up to her.
In the Greek cult of the dead, dolphins guided the souls of the deceased. A fitting symbol, because for centuries, the nuns were responsible for the memoria, the commemoration of prayers.
