Information for cyclists
In Horstmar, the Burgmannshöfe are always a nice destination for cyclists. With the proximity to the Baumberge mountains, a few metres of altitude await excursionists who want to be experienced. In the otherwise rather flat Münsterland, the slightly hilly landscape is really an experience, because the views are always worthwhile.
Horstmar is connected to the Münsterland cycle path network, which is over 4,500 kilometres long, and thus offers numerous opportunities for cycling tours in the Münsterland park landscape in the surrounding area. The two following themed routes also lead through Horstmar: 100 Castles Route, North Course Historic Town Centres
From farm to farm
The eight Burgmannshöfe farms in Horstmar are perfect for an eleven-kilometre hike from farm to farm. On the circular route guided by Steinfurt Land, hikers also make a detour to the beautiful Haus Alst, which was also built using the rare Specklagen technique.
Starting from the church square, the historic centre of the castle town of Horstmar, the easy circular route leads through the square-shaped old town with the castle manor houses, along farm tracks to the idyllically situated moated castle of Haus Alst and back through Herrenholz to the town.
