Kayabamba - Stand up paddling on Lake Hengstey

The sun glistens on the water and two swans are preparing to land as you glide across the lake. You dip your paddle into the cool water and move under your own power through the green-blue oasis of Hengsteysee.

Stand Up Paddling (SUP) combines nature experience with fitness. While walkers and cyclists crowd the footpaths, you experience the landscape from the water: a whole new view of your surroundings.

At the eastern end of Lake Hengstey you will find Kayabamba in the boathouse of the Ruhrverband. Here, on the south shore, there is easy water access via a floating dock. This part of the lake is somewhat separated from the rest by the Syburger Ruhrbrücke bridge. Therefore, the water is calm there and there is plenty of space to practise and also a beautiful view of the Ruhr slopes Hohensyburg, a designated nature reserve.

The SUP school offers beginner courses, advanced courses, children's courses, SUP yoga courses and after-work paddling.

Would you rather be by yourself? Of course you can also rent a board or canoes without a course.
