The Protestant Christuskirche consists of several parts: The tower comes from the first church from the 1890s, while the nave with adjoining living, office and community rooms was only built in 2014-16 in place of a post-war building. Inside, the church is characterised by simplicity and clear lines. The windows were designed by the artist David Schnell. Beneath the church is the 'basement', a beautiful vaulted cellar that is used for events. Legend has it that the Kölsch rock band BAP formed here. Joy Divison also gave one of two concerts in Germany here in 1980.
