Church

Today's Luther Church on Martin-Luther-Platz was erected as a simple brick building between 1962 and 1964. Until it was completely destroyed in the Second World War, this site was home to its predecessor church in the neo-Renaissance style, which was built between 1904 and 1906. All that remains of this predecessor building is the tower, which still bears the scars of war. The church, tower and existing community centre form a complex of buildings arranged around an inner courtyard. The huge mural (12 x 6 metres), which was created by the artist Christos Koutsouras in 1995 and is located behind the altar, is remarkable. A wide variety of events and exhibitions are organised here on a regular basis.
