The Silver Lakes and the adjacent nature reserves are the ideal place for cyclists who like to enjoy the relaxing beauty of nature. A large network of cycle paths runs through the entire area, offering flat paths and relaxing rest stops in the greenery. Those who want to experience even more kilometres in this unspoilt landscape can combine their tour with a detour to the ponds in the Heubach lowlands. North of the silver lakes begins another nature reserve dotted with small streams and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
To the south of the lakes are theme routes worth seeing in the Münsterland region: the "H2 Lebendige Natur" (Living Nature), which takes you along unspoilt paths through the greenery from Haltern am See via Hausdülmen and Klein Reken back to Haltern. Several themed routes come together in Haltern: 100 Castles Route, Hohe Mark Cycle Route, Roman-Lippe Route, Rönerwege and Roman Discoveries.
The best way for cyclists to explore Haltern am See is on the "H-Routes", which connect all the sights of the town and its surroundings.
Information for hikers
A few relaxing hours in nature are promised by the hiking trails around the Silver Lake as well as through the adjacent nature reserves. Numerous hiking trails run through the entire area and offer flat paths and relaxing rest stops in the greenery. Those who want to experience even more kilometres in this unspoiled landscape can combine their tour with a detour to the ponds in the Heubachniederung. North of the silver lakes, the nature reserve begins, dotted with small streams and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
The Westrup Heath and the reservoir are also popular destinations for hikers. The latter can be excellently combined with an exploration of the beautiful city centre.

The entrance fee to the lake area is made up of € 4.30 entrance fee and € 0.50 as a sanitary and hygiene flat rate and thus amounts to € 4.80 per person/bather.
Admission to Silver Lake is compulsory on bathing days. The bathing days are announced online for booking in good / summer weather. As a rule, from 48 hours before the opening day.
Tickets cannot be returned or exchanged.
Dogs are not allowed on the lake.

At Silbersee II, parking is available for a fee in the immediate vicinity of the lake on the road Zum Vogelsberg.
Approach
Silbersee II is located north of the town of Haltern am See, south-west of Münster.
By car: Via the A43 motorway, take exit 7 Lavesum onto Sythener Straße, then turn left onto Münsterstraße. The destination is on the left after about one kilometre.
By public transport: Take the RE2 or RE42 train to Sythen railway station, then bus 273 to Haltern Lehmbraken Mitte, from here about 1.5 km on foot.

The bathing season starts after approval by the authorities. After that, the bathing lake is open for swimming at weekends, during holidays and on public holidays with DLRG supervision.
