Essen Central Station

Essen Hauptbahnhof is the most important railway station in the city of Essen and is one of the 21 stations in the highest price category of DB Station&Service. It is a system stop for long-distance traffic and is important for regional and suburban railway traffic. It is also the central connection point for local public transport in Essen. With a total of around 152,000[1] travellers and visitors every day, it is one of Deutsche Bahn's busiest long-distance train stations. The main station also acts as a link between Essen's city centre with its connection to the Kettwiger Straße pedestrian zone and the service centres in the southern district.
