The Spieker Termühlen was built as early as 1575 and is thus one of the oldest Spieker in the Münsterland.
In the 16th and 17th centuries it offered protection and defence against roving bands of robbers. It was also used as a warehouse for food and valuables.
During the Second World War, the Spieker again provided protection from the Allies who attacked from the other side of the Aa.
Today, the Spieker can be visited inside and out.
