Tourist information
The Verkehrsverein Arnsberg e.V. transport association was founded around 90 years ago, and is now a partner of the town of Arnsberg, as the supporter for marketing the town in Arnsberg. The aim is to improve the quality of life for the people living in Arnsberg and to increase Arnsberg’s attractiveness for visitors and customers. As well as tourism promotion, the statutory duties of the transport association also include supporting and strengthening the cultural and economic development in the town of Arnsberg. The Verkehrsverein Arnsberg provides vibrancy, change and entertainment in public life and is therefore an important motor for the dialogue between business, politics and administration.
The Vekehrsverein Arnsberg e.V. has been awarded the i-Marke (“i-seal”) by the Deutscher Tourismusverband, the German tourism association. The purpose of the i-seal is to establish a uniform, contemporary quality seal for tourist information offices throughout Germany. In this way, the aim is to increase confidence among guests in the i-seal and to raise the level of recognition. In December 2014, the Verkehrsverein Arnsberg e.V. again underwent an inspection by the German tourism association in order to confirm the i-seal received in 2008. This is valid until December 2017.
The Verkehrsverein Arnsberg e.V. is a public tourism organisation recognised by the town administration, and in agreement with the town administration has been a supporter of tourism work for the entire town of Arnsberg since 2001.
The association’s office has been located at Neumarkt 6, 59821 Arnsberg, since 1978.
