The moated castle Badinghagen is picturesquely situated in the middle of forests in the middle of forests south of Meinerzhagen.
A history of the former knight's seat dating back over a thousand years is documented in writing and accompanies the moated castle surrounded by moats and ponds.
The castle can only be reached on foot and is therefore a nice destination for a walk in the forest. It is privately owned and can therefore only be viewed from the outside.
A parking lot is located on the L323, driving from the Meinerzhagen exit towards Gummersbach (after approx. 3-4 km), from there it is only a short walk to the moated castle Badinghagen.
You can also park at "Meinerzhagener Schützenplatz" and walk from there towards Butmicke (below the Meinhardus-Mattenschanzen).
