The sports centre also offers a 1,000 meter-long Finn track.
As well as a stadium, the Große Wiese sports and salt water park has light athletics facilities (all in plastic), a grassy training area and two spaces with cinder surfaces. There are also 3 sports halls and the NASS leisure pool. Directly on the sports centre site, there is also a salt water park with graduation works, a Kneipp spa treatment island and a boule facility. In 2010, the newly created Finn track was opened, offering an additional highlight.
Information about the Finn track:
A Finn track is a circular running track that makes it possible to run without damaging joints due to its special structure. In contrast to asphalt tracks or synthetic tracks, it has a soft, springy cover. The Finn track in the Große Wiese sports centre is 2.50 m wide and exactly 1,000 m long. The track runs independently of other path systems throughout, is illuminated in the dark and during the evening until 11 pm using energy-saving LED technology, and is accessible to the public at all times.
