Church

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Ahaus characterises the town centre of Ahaus like no other building. All that remains of the original church is the bell tower built in 1519. This also had to be rebuilt after the town fire of 1863. The nave was replaced by a new building in 1965. The colourful stained glass windows designed by Georg Meistermann are particularly worth seeing.
