Dortmund Airport, also known as Dortmund Airport 21, is a regional commercial airport located in the east of Dortmund on the city limits of Holzwickede and Unna. In terms of passenger numbers, the airport is the third largest commercial airport in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is ranked 10th in Germany.

Travelling by car:
Dortmund Airport is located on the eastern edge of the Ruhr region and can be reached quickly and easily from all directions via the motorways. The airport is very conveniently located on the A40 (B1) and A44 motorways. You do not need an environmental badge for your vehicle. There are around 5,100 parking spaces available on site - you can book a suitable parking space directly online.

Public transport connections:
The AirportExpress, a direct connection from Dortmund main station, and the AirportShuttle, a direct connection from Holzwickede station, are available for travelling to and from the event by public transport. Both stations are served by local and long-distance Deutsche Bahn services.

You can start a timetable enquiry (incl. AirportExpress and AirportShuttle connections) via the railway website www.bahn.de. Please note that the AirportExpress and AirportShuttle buses are not part of the Rhine-Ruhr transport network and a separate ticket must be purchased.
