Altenberge's newly designed market square is the centre of the town and the venue for numerous events.

Altenberge's market square is the centre and parlour of the town. Not far from St John's Church, the market square offers space for numerous events. In addition to the weekly market, the popular flea market and St Nicholas market also take place here.

The surrounding retail outlets, seating and the fountain area provide variety and relaxation.

Journey
By car via the A1 (Cologne-Bremen) or the A31 (Oberhausen-Emden) to the Münster-Nord junction or the Gronau/Ochtrup exit. From there, take the B54 to the Altenberge exit. Follow the signs in the direction of the town centre.
Altenberge railway station is on the outskirts of the town. Trains from Münster, Steinfurt, Gronau and Enschede stop here regularly. Altenberge is also connected to Münster by several bus routes. The central bus stop is located at the Altenberge post office.
