Guided tours
Every year, the Nature Conservation Centre organises a series of events in the Venner Moor, which offers a wide variety of insights into the nature conservation area through several guided tours. Experts from various biological departments explain the biodiversity and history of the moor and provide insights into the different habitat perspectives. Plants and animals as well as the development of the moor are examined.
Information for hikers
Whether by bike or on foot, the surroundings of the Venner Moor invite you for both entertaining and extended tours on foot or by bike. The hiking trails of the local history society directly at the moor car park and through the nature reserve are particularly popular. On site, active hikers will find a board with route profiles and trail markings. The tours range from four kilometres to nine kilometres in length and provide wonderful insights into the calming nature and biodiversity of the moor.
Senden has other attractive trails for cyclists and hikers, for example around the castle. Here, active cyclists will find unspoilt paths along the Stever. The Dortmund-Ems Canal offers flat routes and attractive hiking and cycling paths also lead through the town centre.
The hiking trail network of the Senden local heritage association comprises 67 km of hiking trails, the nine trails ranging in length from about 4 to almost 13 kilometres.
Scenic trails lead to the water castle town of Lüdinghausen and through the nature reserves of Venner Moor and Davert.
