    Between mammoth and mulberry: the Dalheim Arboretum

    An aboretum is a collection of various native and exotic trees. Visitors can get to know 70 different trees on the 500m long circular trail through the Dalheim Aboretum. The redwood trees from North America and Asia are a highlight.

    Note:
    The circular trail is a small path, so it is not accessible with a baby carriage. The path is also not marked, but you can follow the path along the small posts on which you can find information about the various trees.

    The arboretum is located on the edge of the village of Dalheim.

    From the L817 turn into the street "Am Kloster". There are plenty of parking spaces at the entrance to Dalheim. From the parking lot it is approx. 800 m to the arboretum. First walk in the direction of the monastery, then keep left and follow the road out of the village.

    After passing the playground, cross the Piepenbach stream and then follow the road "Am Hayersberg" to the left. After a few meters you will find the first signs to the arboretum. At the next fork in the road, turn uphill onto the forest path. A short time later you will reach the "main entrance" to the Aboretum. But be careful: the entrance portal to the forest is easy to miss.

    Leave the village of Dalheim and follow the road "Am Kloster", which becomes "Am Hayersberg" as you leave the village. At the fork in the road, turn into "Lichtenauer Kirchweg". After a few meters you will find a parking area next to the main entrance to the Aboretum.
