Monastery historical building

Stift Tilbeck, founded in 1881 by Gertrud Teigelkemper, is an important institution in the field of care for the disabled and elderly. The foundation is run by a Catholic organisation and its sole shareholder is the Bishop of Münster. It offers a wide range of living and working facilities for people with disabilities as well as care services for the elderly. The complex includes historic buildings such as the Maria Hilf chapel and has undergone considerable expansion over the years, including the construction of the Rochus building and a water tower.

The monastery is also a popular excursion destination, known for its barefoot path and the scenic surroundings of the Baumberge mountains. It offers guests a café and a small zoo, making it a unique combination of social care and local attraction.
