Tourist attractions – various

The statue of Heinrich Sauerland is located in the centre of Telgte. The work of art by Prof- Jörg Heydemann is an almost life-size bronze sculpture and honours the last official town crier, who lived until 1913. He used his voice and a bell to inform citizens of news on a daily basis.

The statue is part of ten sculptures that Heydemann created for Telgte. Interesting details, such as sentence fragments and symbols flowing from the crier's mouth, enrich the market pavement and tell of the town's history.
