The tree trail in Legden, which opened in October 2021, stretches along the Mühlenbach stream and comprises 38 trees, including fruit trees. Each tree has an information board with details about the respective species and the name of the tree sponsor. The aim of the trail is to familiarise people with the plant world and to teach children in particular how to interact with nature. The trail invites walkers and cyclists to enjoy the diversity of nature. Dedicated volunteers take care of the maintenance and watering of the trees. Further elements such as adventure stations, a herbarium and an insect hotel are planned for the future.
HistoryThe tree nature trail in Legden was initiated in spring 2021 by the association of former group leaders (P.U.L.K.) and the Legden Kolping Family. In cooperation with the municipality and other authorities, a path with 38 trees, including fruit trees, was created along the Mühlenbach stream. Each tree is labelled with an information board naming the respective tree sponsor. The trees are cared for and watered by dedicated volunteers. Additional elements such as nesting boxes, a herbarium or an insect hotel are planned for the future to further enrich the trail.
