Public buildings – various Bridge

The Lower Rhine Bridge Wesel is a road bridge and spans the Rhine as part of the federal highway 58 on the Lower Rhine southwest of Wesel at river kilometer 814.

336 meters long, 130 meters high at the top, with four lanes, combined footpaths and cycle paths and costing around 70 million euros: this is the Wesel Lower Rhine Bridge. Since 2009, it has replaced the old Rhine bridge, which was actually only intended as a temporary bridge when it was built in 1953 and has struggled to cope with the sharp increase in car traffic over the past 55 years. Today, it is a landmark in the district town of Wesel that can be seen from afar.
