Take a journey back in time to the heyday of railway history on the Lower Rhine on the "On the tracks of the Boxteler Bahn" tour. The "Boxteler Bahn" cycle route - in Dutch "Duits Lijntje" - runs for almost 160 km along the historic railway line from Wesel to Boxtel in the Netherlands. From 1873 until well into the 20th century, the route was of outstanding importance as part of the fastest east-west connection between London via Berlin to St. Petersburg. Its use by European royalty and the Russian tsarist family in particular contributed to its great popularity. Information boards along the route tell the exciting story of this legendary railway connection.
