The memorial stone for the old town of Büderich is located on Weseler Straße, a few hundred metres behind the Rhine bridge.
It was consecrated on 3rd April 1957. The stone slab on the memorial stone bears the following text: ‘Here stood the church as the centre of the town and fortress of Büderich. On Napoleon's orders, Altbüderich was destroyed for strategic reasons in 1813.’
