Mill Museum/Exhibition

The Reken windmill, also known as Hillen-Mölle, is a striking landmark in the region and is one of the oldest and most beautiful tower windmills in Westphalia. Situated on a hill on the edge of the district of Groß Reken, the mill rises above the landscape, visible from afar. In 1972, after thorough renovation, the mill was converted into a local history museum, which is run by the Reken local history association. The museum is dedicated to the theme "From sowing to harvesting" and displays a variety of historical tools and equipment that illustrate the agricultural traditions of the region. A visit to the Reken windmill not only offers an insight into the history of agriculture, but also a marvellous view of the surrounding area.
