Vantage point/Observation tower

168 steps lead visitors to the Melchenberg viewing tower to a height of 162 metres above sea level. Those who are not afraid to climb the mighty observation tower will be rewarded with a magnificent view.

In good weather, the view stretches 50 kilometres across the Münsterland and far into the Ruhr region. The view stretches from Münster to the striking spoil tip at Gelsenkirchen-Scholven. In between, the gentle cultural landscape of the Münsterland and the densely wooded areas of the Hohe Mark stretch out.
