Canal promenade Dortmund-Ems Canal

Information for cyclists
Various signposted themed cycle routes offer interesting cycle tours through the Münsterland region. The routes run just a few metres from the zoo:
100 Castles Route | East Course
Dortmund-Ems Canal
German Football Route NRW
Pilgrim route
Peace Route
Access to the routes is provided by junction 38, which is located directly at the canal lock.
The network of junctions, which is over 4500 kilometres long, makes it easy to navigate and find your way around the region's cycle paths and themed routes, even for those unfamiliar with the area.

A1 and Schifffahrter Damm/B481 to Sudmühlenstraße in Münster-Ost, follow Münster
Follow Sudmühlenstraße
Take Dyckburgstraße to Wilhelmshavenufer

Coming from Münster:
At the main station. Münster main station, take the R11, 2 or 10 bus in the direction of Warendorf to the "Pulverschuppen" stop
The bus stop is located directly on the canal
