Destinationpoint

Maspernplatz, Paderborn

A really sporty tour after a leisurely start, which runs on easy, quiet paths and always offers beautiful views.

Course of the route:

Information display case at Maspernplatz - Fischteiche (3.5 km) - Stadtheide (4.5 km) - Marienloh (8.3 km) - Bad Lippspringe (12.1 km) - Neuenbeken (17.4 km) - Dahl (23.8 km) - Haxter Warte / Lichtenturm (28 km) - Maspernplatz (34 km)

The Beke-Lippe loop starts at Maspernplatz on the northern edge of Paderborn city center. From there, it first leads past the Rolandsbad (outdoor pool) and motorhome parking area to the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (HNF), then on to the Fischteiche recreational area. It then runs along the Talleseen lakes and along a former railroad line to Bad Lippspringe.
On the route via Neuenbeken, Dahl and the Haxterberg back to Paderborn city center, you can experience the characteristics of the Paderborn plateau: Deeply incised valleys with often dry watercourses and airy heights that provide sweeping views.

The "Beke-Lippe-Runde" is a 34 km circular route, so you can start and finish at any point. We recommend cycling the route in a clockwise direction.

Details

At first, the Beke-Lippe-Runde starts off fairly harmless and leisurely, but from around the halfway point, the great views from the Paderborn plateau to the Senne and the Teutoburg Forest are the reward for all the pedalling.
The approximately 34-kilometre excursion starts at the cycle route information showcase on the western Maspernplatz near the children's playground on the inner city ring road. The tour is signposted as "PB 2", i.e. "Paderborn-Tour 2".
It leads past the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (HNF) to the Fischteiche recreational area. From there, it runs along the Talleseen lakes and along a former railroad line to the spa town of Bad Lippspringe. The characteristics of the Paderborn plateau can be experienced on the route via Neuenbeken, Dahl and the Haxterberg back to Paderborn city center: Deeply incised valleys with often dry watercourses and airy heights that offer sweeping views.

There are several places to stop for refreshments along the way. Find out about attractive beer gardens in Paderborn and the Paderborn region on our website www.paderborn.de/radfahren (category: Rest & Accommodation - direct link: http://bit.ly/2uyKi5R).
