Excursion from Bad Meinberg to the Externsteine, the Adlerwarte and the historic old town of Detmold. You cycle with tourist highlights in the Teutoburg Forest Nature Park.

Start at the bike rental and cycle right along Brunnenstraße to the monument, then turn left into Krumme Straße and straight on into Marktstraße to the Bad Meinberg bus station. After crossing Hamelner Straße into the residential street Auf der Heide and from the second left-hand junction, follow the signpost "Horn - Fürstenroute" to Horn and on to the Externsteine natural and cultural monument. This cycle path signposting takes you via Holzhausen to Berlebeck. Then cycle along the Berlebecke valley following the "Detmold-FürstenRoute" signs to Theaterplatz. Here you can visit the historic old town of Detmold. Continue along Meierstraße to Weerthplatz. Follow the signs for "Aqualip" where you will come to the cycle path signs for "Werre-Radweg" and follow this to the starting point in Bad Meinberg.

From the bike rental, turn right onto "Brunnenstraße" to the monument, turn left onto "Krumme Straße" and straight ahead onto "Marktstraße" to the Bad Meinberg bus station. After crossing "Hamelner Straße", turn into the residential street "Auf der Heide" and follow the NRW cycle path signs from the second left-hand junction. "Horn - FürstenRoute" to Horn and on to the Externsteine natural and cultural monument. The "FürstenRoute" cycle path signs take you via Holzhausen to Berlebeck, where you can leave your bike at the "Im Hoffeld" bus stop and walk approx. 125 m up the steps to the eagle observatory.

Follow the cycle path signs "Detmold - FürstenRoute" in the Berlebecke valley until you reach "Theaterplatz". Explore the historic old town with the castle, market square with shopping and refreshment options in the pedestrian zone. Then cycle through "Meierstraße" to "Weerthplatz".

Follow the signs for "Aqualip", where you will meet the cycle path signs for "Bad Meinberg - Werre-Radweg" to the starting point in Bad Meinberg.

Tip

Visit the Adlerwarte when the free flights are on. These are in summer (March - Novemver) at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, from 01.05. - 15. 09. also at 4:30 pm.
