Whether in a club, as an unusual company outing or for private occasions: Boßeln brings young and old together with fun and good humour. Equipped with a handcart and provisions, the day becomes a special experience. This bowling route takes you along the Mittweg and the Tölkenweg towards "Kuhkämper". Although there is a small incline to overcome, where the game of bowls has to be briefly suspended, this certainly doesn't detract from the socialising!

Boßeln is a sociable game that is particularly popular in northern Germany. The rules are simple and make the game accessible to all age groups. The aim is to roll a ball along a set course in as few throws as possible. The course can vary, often played on country roads or dirt tracks.

Teams : Two teams compete against each other. Each team has its own coloured ball made of wood or plastic.
Throwing : The ball is thrown from the hand, whereby the technique is freely selectable. The team members take their turn in a fixed order.
Playing the game : Play always continues with the ball that is behind, so that the same team can take their turn twice in a row.
Target : The team that gets the ball to the target with the fewest throws wins.

Safety Guidelines

Bossel is only reasonable on this route from October to April, due to the heavy arrival and departure traffic from Safariland. However, the winter months are the classic months for bowls anyway.

Use the roads and paths at your own risk.

A landing net for the balls is required for this course! Play equipment and handcarts can be hired from FC Stukenbrock on 05257 2429.

Tip

The classic meal after a game of bowls is hearty kale. Enjoy this at the Zum Kuhkamp restaurant, phone 05207 4421.
