Most of the Schlossweg leads through the Holter Forest. It connects the hunting lodge in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock with Verl. After about 10 km you reach the Mühlcafé. The hiking trail then leads a further 3 km along the banks of the near-natural Ölbach stream through sometimes dense, sometimes loosely overgrown forest and through meadows back to Holte hunting lodge, where the Holter Schlosskrug invites you to linger. Connecting paths make shorter circular routes possible!

First, the route leads through woods and fields, along the Landerbach stream. Past riding facilities and nature reserves, you reach the Wester-Ebbinghaus farm. There, the Landerbach flows into the Ölbach. From here, the route follows the Ölbach back to the edge of the Holter Wald forest, where the Mühlcafé is located.

Once back in the dense forest, you reach your starting point on varied paths.

Tip

The Mühlcafè is a very comfortable place to sit, both outside on the terrace by the mill wheel and inside in the cozy dining room.

Getting There

A33, exit 22-Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, direction Schloß Holte. Cross the traffic circle (second exit straight ahead). After approx. 800 m turn right into the forest.
