    The east of Bielefeld is flat, quiet and green. Park paths along streams and ponds open up the districts of Heepen and Oldentrup. Discover the green paths in the long Lutter green corridor, in the diverse district park in Oldentrup and in the park around the Ravensberger Spinnerei!

    Round tour:

    The route out of the city leads through Ravensberger Straße with its long avenue of plane trees. It is a cycle route here, on which cyclists have priority.

    A continuous green link runs from the old town of Bielefeld to the eastern district of Heepen. The path along the Lutter and its three reservoirs widens into an ever-widening green corridor. The circular route begins at the second reservoir

    The Hof Meyer zu Heepen, which is surrounded by a moat, used to be one of the largest farms in the Ravensberg region. Today, it is used as a nature lovers' house, among other things.

    (!) Variant:

    At Hof Meyer zu Heepen/junction 82, the variant branches off through the center of Heepen. The former Amtshaus Heepen was built in 1833 by the Haase family as a private house. Heepen's first house built of brick and sandstone was popularly known as "Heeper Schloss". Since 1985, it has served as the district office of the Heepen borough. Surrounded by water on three sides, Gut Lübrassen, a former manor, lies in the valley of the Oldentrup stream. Drive around the "peninsula" and look across the mill pond from the north at the high gabled front with its black and white half-timbering! At junction 81, you will rejoin the circular route.

    You cycle through Oldentruper Park on paved paths. Oldentrup is a rural district in the east of the city of Bielefeld. Take a look around and marvel at the biodiversity in the Stieghorster Bach area!

    Somewhat off the route is the Hof Meyer zu Stieghorst (Meyer-zu-Stieghorst-Hof 3, 33719 Bielefeld). The farm is characterized by the four-storey half-timbered house, which was built in 1811. It represents the rural architecture and construction methods of the 19th century. Typical architectural elements such as beams and stud frames have been preserved.

    The detour (0.5 km from junction 26) to the Ravensberg spinning mill shortly before the end of the tour is well worth it!

    The former industrial buildings now house a cultural and event center with two museums, an arthouse cinema and an adult education center. The garden at the Huelsmann Museum next to the Ravensberger Spinnerei has been restored largely true to the original plans with a pond and fountain.

    You can shorten or extend your tour "Cycle tour tip 5 Stauteiche and Oldentrup" at any time along the way, as the tour runs entirely through the junction network. Signposts at the cycle route intersections (the junctions) show you the way to the next town, a nearby attraction or the train station. Large signs along the route inform you about other leisure cycle routes.

    Somewhat off the beaten track, Naturfreunde Bielefeld has created a mountain bike trail with varying degrees of difficulty on the 30-metre-high Monte Scherbelino.
