Rietberg - a town between nature, culture, history and modernity. Experience the highlights of the former count's town on a varied city walk through the historic town center and Rietberg's natural beauty.

Experience nature, experience history, enjoy Rietberg - this is what the "Grafenschritte" circular hiking trail offers.

In the footsteps of the counts, idyllic paths along the River Ems lead hikers through the listed, historic town center and past a variety of natural areas. There is a lot to discover along the route: Picturesque half-timbered houses with ornately decorated gables, centuries-old manor houses and monuments as well as narrow, winding alleyways leading to secret gardens. The historic town hall deserves special mention - with its unmistakable design, it is considered one of the most beautiful town halls in Westphalia. For a little refreshment in between, quaint, cozy refreshment stops at traditional local businesses invite you to linger and enjoy.

Nature lovers will also get their money's worth on this city hike: the Rietberg fish ponds nature reserve, the garden show park, the monastery garden and the ramparts around the historic city center offer visitors a variety of nature experiences along the way.

The central starting point (ZOB) on the edge of the historic city center makes it easy to start the route. Thanks to minor differences in altitude and well-surfaced paths, most of which are also asphalted or paved, the city walk is very suitable for all generations.
