Railroad station in Ottbergen

The new children's adventure trail starts at the train station in Ottbergen and runs along the so-called "Hohlwegrunde" of the "Erlesenen Natur" of the district of Höxter.

Child-friendly and interactive hands-on elements have been set up along the three-kilometre route.

But there is also plenty to learn. Natti guides you through her habitat and its surroundings.

The route takes you along field paths with agricultural puzzles into the hollow path. Here you can hop and balance over wooden snail shells on the snail course.

Through the "Gateway to the Jungle" you swing into the jungle full of climbing plants, where you can also marvel at rare plants.

At the height of the dry grassland, which is also Natti's living room, a bench invites you to take a short break.

The path leads downhill past a balancing snake carved from a tree trunk, a dry grassland game and a bird call station.

At the picnic area with a view of Ottbergen, you will playfully learn that there is a lot going on in an orchard meadow.

Back to the station, where you can take a souvenir photo with the "Lok-oh!"-motive.

The path is rather unsuitable for baby carriages.

If your feet get hot during the hike, you should plan a short detour to the River Nethe to refresh yourself in the cool water!

There are plenty of parking spaces directly at the station.

Ottbergen is very easy to reach with the RB 84 (Egge-Bahn) and the RB 85 (Oberweserbahn).
For example, there is an hourly connection to/from Paderborn.
Further information can be found on the Deutsche Bahn website.
